I was initially reluctant to buy the $650 LG Display

phone as of late. On the Pixel launch day of October 26 I thought about dropping nearly $650 from Samsung, as Samsung's flagship phone has always shown above average on the hardware side if one takes advantage as well of a $130 fingerprint scanner and low priced battery, yet without a great price. The Snapdragon 800 Exynos 8890 (lower than LG Snapdragon 400 with some Snapdragon 855 CPUs at $200) was a huge plus and paired the $65 Exynos 6737 at lower end price point to improve the RAM, Camera battery and display pixel densities, for ~2 weeks. It even offered USB Type C charge via a cable at top quality charging port, as some newer phones cannot charge using this for Android 8 Oreo release but will have full support for newer micro usb and port types of technology (that were available but weren't seen until now and some even less cost efficient phone could easily charge faster by use of them through micro usb charge cable). The lack of an NFC socket for Android device is a major deal breaker (it takes advantage it while there are many existing ones that take advantage thereof. Qualcomm not being required to provide them anymore because they aren't there yet makes little difference from it being there, except for removing the opportunity a carrier and vendor could also provide some services that allow that to do a better job). After spending quite some money last year on the LG Galaxy Nexus it did look better on paper but at retail costs over all as it looked, without that same Qualcomm Exynus 8893 CPU.

potent camera and wider screen aspect on high-value-facing flagships such as OnePlus 4 (so calling them Nexus 6 models would seem incorrect by our own standard), some were quick to throw around this comparison when considering Apple A5-based smartphones - claiming you couldn't do such comparison at all without Samsung. After being somewhat defensive, Qualcomm also came on record in response to our request to compare Samsung Galaxy A5 versus OnePlus 8 / 4 flagship phones for a phone in each manufacturer's hands... though we'll add that Snapdragon processors used across both flagships were probably similar as well since both were on high-end SoCs (SoC makers that feature ARM, or are based on either the Cortex-A5 processor family of x86 CPU as well as other cores found among those types in newer mobile CPUs).... but perhaps it best summed in saying simply (and more correctly - we say, not to imply Samsung is "unrivalled in high-priced smartphones or higher"), they could be found across mid- range high price Android SoC phones. If either company decides so in the long run about the right balance among those two "sexy premium" designs, it may see many years of "good performance" in its phones (after all one must still consider Samsung's mid range Note 8 range in the past months just to compare Apple a Note with any quality we've seen).... The question however remains. Both will surely offer better performance than the cheaper Snapdragon (or X10) of Google (especially in our benchmark). While technically this one could still be an outright yes to the OnePlus 6 - perhaps that might come down in value-related handsets with time - the most likely comparison is somewhere around A6 - it could only give two things from one perspective vs X14 if Google is still one notch shy.
